Iqama Red Green Nitqat Colors

Many people are curious about to know what is the reality behind the iqama color system in Saudi Arabia.

Iqama color system is known as the Nitaqat. The colors that reveal the Nitqat category are re, green, and yellow. These colors reveal the categories of Keafeel/ Company.

Nitqat system was introduced in 2011, as a result of the Saudization policy of the Saudi government.

Each private business owner is bound to employ a certain number of Saudi citizens. The number and percentage of Saudi employees in a company define the Nitqat color category.

Contrarily, we can assume that the Nitqat colors determine the number of Saudi employees in a company.

Consequently, a company or Kafeel can be red, green, yellow, or platinum on the basis of the percentage of Saudi employees.

Red Color Status

  • If a small business has less than 40% of Saudi employees of its total employees, it comes under the red color status.
  • If a medium level business has less then 50%of Saudi employees of its total employees, it will be under the red category.
  • A large business consists of less than 60% of Saudi employees, it will be under the red category.
  • A multinational company has less than 60% of Saudi employees, it will also be under the red category.

The red category business does not tend to continue for a long time. So, the color category of red business has to change in green as soon as possible.

Furthermore, if you find your Iqama under the red category, then you should change your company sooner.

In this regard, you also don’t need to take any approval from your Kafeel or company. The companies in red categories face many visas, Iqama, and other immigration problems. So, you should change the company as soon as possible.

Yellow Color Status:

A company or Kafeel will be under yellow color status if.

  • Small business has a percentage of Saudi employees as 5-9%.
  • The medium business has a percentage of Saudi employees as 6-11%
  • A large business has a percentage of Saudi employees as 7%
  • A multinational level business has a percentage of Saudi employees as 7%

In the Yellow Nitqat, category employees can transfer themselves to other companies without any Kafeel’s permission. According to new rules, an employee can not renew his Iqama if he has completed two years.

So, if you find your Iqama in red or yellow colors, you should change your employer immediately.

Green Color Status

A company will be under the green status if

  • A small business has a percentage of Saudi employees as 10-39%
  • The medium business has a percentage of Saudi employees as 12-39%
  • A large business has a percentage of Saudi employees as 12-39%
  • A multinational business has a percentage of Saudi employees as 12-39%

The green status is usually a good category. This kind of company gets a visa every month. They can hire red/yellow color employees without any permission from their Kafeels.

In the green category, employees can renew their Iqama three months before the iqama expiry date. They can also change professions, and the six-month license grace period is also allowed in this category.

Platinum Color Status

If a company of any level has more than 40% of Saudi employees, it has a platinum color status. It is a perfect category.

The company and employees under this category enjoy all the privileges of the Ministry of Labor.

This kind of company can recruit employees easily and can hire red and yellow status employees without permission from their Kafeels.

Consequently, change of profession, one-year license grace period, and iqama renewal before three months of its expiry are allowed in this category.

When someone leaves his/her Kafeel without his permission or run away from his Kafeel, then the Kafeel makes an online report against the person who left him without his consent.

This report is called “Huroob.” Many people working on a free visa may face this kind of issue due to some bad and strict Kafeels.
